New world record

Two new world records were set by professionals of the National Dive League, diving into the highest mountain lake in the Elbrus region - Northern Birjaly in Kabardino-Balkaria.

It is also called the “dead eye of the genie” - it is located in the crater of a volcano at an altitude of more than three kilometers. And the lake is filled with meltwater from the Elbrus glaciers. The world record for the highest tandem dive was set by experienced divers: NDL course director Konstantin Izotov and NDL instructor Yuri Kashin. Second world achievement for NDL divemaster Elena Kashina, in the “solo dive” category. Each stayed underwater for 40 minutes at a maximum depth of nine meters.
